It's not always true. I was a firm believer in the 8200 pack I was selling for a long time and also the IP packs like a lot run that are 7600+. Until my factory sent me a newer style 6000 pack to test. The discharge curve at 40 amps is just as good if not better than the IP packs and my 8200 pack. Plus the IR was lower. It all depends on the chemistry of the pack itself.

One thing I also found when testing HV packs were they were good the first 15-20 cycles and then they went to crap and swelled worse than any other packs Ive tested. It's been about 6 months since I tested any so perhaps they have refined them a little better but I always thought the HV was just a gimmick to be honest.
