Friday night racing arrived and the Horse Shoe Club filled up with competitors! We had 4 FULL heats of racing action! TC stock and TC mod were both filled up with experienced and beginner racers alike! Only their skills and speed would determine if they would make the A or B mains!

One of Western Canada's fastest guys Wayne "The Drone" Mah showed up to school locals on fast lines around on the track! Dwayne "Groundhog" Flodell poked his head out of his home to check for his shadow and run some laps!

Touring Stock B main

A battle was a foot tonight at Carcar. Our B main field was filled with a field of hungry drivers who were chomping at the bit to get things going. On the pole was Slammin Sammy, followed by Mr. DNF Cal, One Lap Blaine, The Mechanic Trevor, Tim Bulb, New Addiction Dave and Killer B Berry. You could feel the machismo and testosterone brewing on the driver’s stand as the hounds awaited to get going. On the tone, we had Slammin Sammy rocket off the line and a couple of corners in had a pretty good lead. He knew he had the speed to hold the rest of the field off. Mr. DNF, after missing heats and trashing in the pits, installing new motors every round, setting the timing to kill, put chase. Even with his massive resources was struggling to find the pace of Slammin Sammy.

Behind the two gladiators at the front, we had One Lap, the Mechanic and The Bulb battling hard. The only thing fast with One Lap last night was his smack talking. The Mechanic was all over One Lap, going right and going left and ended up getting into One Lap, this opening the door for Bulb who got knocked around by One Lap and The Mechanic, so luck was not on his side. The Mechanic made his charge on One Lap and got beside him, but One Lap, in a fit of rage with his lack of speed, was having nothing of that. He squeezed the Mechanic onto the curbing which threw him in the wall. With this battling, Bulb was all over One Lap like a cheap suit. One Lap made a mistake and flipped and jumped the board. With great sportsmanship, he waited, but forgot to pull the trigger and Bulb hit him. This promoted Bulb into third. One Laps woes continued, where he had a simple body tuck that resulted in the car being shut off and that’s all she wrote. The Mechanic was pressuring Bulb and we were waiting for the first to blink, it was Bulb. He got greedy with a corner and it made him pay. This mistake had him flying off the track into the wall like a bug on a windshield. The Mechanic moved into third and drove smooth and was unchallenged from the there.

While all this action was going on up front we had a battle between New Addiction and Killer B. Killer B after a long hiatus joined us for a night of fun. He was shaking the rust off all night and the speed was coming back. New Addiction didn’t know who this new Killer B dude was and thought how dare you challenge me. New Addiction drove arguably the best race of his year, smooth and consistent. He was putting down some fast clean laps and had his sights on One Lap would was no far up the track. With this target in sight, and his finger on the throttle, it made it nearly impossible for a rusty Killer B to catch up. Killer B was concentrating on driving nice clean lines getting back to speed, nice job. New Addiction’s challenge ran out of time and he was unable to run down One Lap.

Up front not much changed Slammin Sammy led from beginning to end with Mr. DNF not able to close the gap. On this night Slammin Sammy had the car to beat. Mr. DNF was left scratching the peach fuzz under his hat, think of what could have been. We all know Mr. DNF took solace in the fact that he whipped One Lap like a rented mule, which we are sure took the sting off. This was a great heat with a great group of drivers and was a hoot too watch.

Results: Slammin Sammy, Mr. DNF, The Mechanic, Bulb, One Lap, New Addiction, and Killer B.

A Main Touring Stock

Wayne "The Drone, Bryce "Arrow", Josh "Superstar", Dwayne "Groundhog" , Kerry "SkidMark", Ivan "Fabio and Walter "Mini King" all drove fast laps and qualified into the main event! With motors turned on and batteries charged to max amps, the race started! As everyone rounded the first corner they found a stack of cars piled up higher then our local marijuana connoisseurs. A few lucky drivers were able to navigate the field and gain multiple positions and by going wide around the mess while The Drone casually added half a lap advantage to his lead withing 4 seconds of the tone!

The rest of the pack had a major battle brewing for the remaining two podium positions. Mini King skipped the crash and jumped directly into second place. He had visions of trophy girls holding his controller and champane showers again this week! Unfortunately, the luck of the Irish escaped Mini King as Skidmark was blowing streaks in his tighty whites and passing everyone on his charge from the back of the pack. Out of his hole for the summer, Groundhog was not scared of Skidmark and stayed right on his bumper, until Skidmark opened up a whole wide enough for a school bus and in went Groundhog.

The Arrow was busy pointing out that Superstar would look good in a feather cut. While Fabio was trying to decide if he should he use scissors or clippers. All these possibilities and excitement they didn't realize they were going so slow that even One Lap could have passed them multiple times.

Finishing Order

The Drone, Groundhog, Skidmark, Mini King, Fabio, The Arrow, Superstar

Touring Mod

Wayne "The Drone", Jim "Monster", Josh "Superstar", Tommy "Speed", Ivan "Fabio", Cal "Mr DNF", Berine "The Wall", Patrick "The Beard" were all in a mega A battle. As the A Main mod drivers squeezed their trigger finger the vehicles jumped into action. Quickly The Drone, and Monster rounded the first few series of corners trying to get away from the pack. However with a stacked pack it was not as easy as they would have liked, because everyone behind them were calculating their risk vs reward ratio on each corner. The Wall though cutting the first corner would pay dividends on a sweet pass on Mr Dnf. However, with the new corners in place, he quickly found out that hitting the breaks in the air does not adjust the trajectory of your vehicle or slow down impact to the wall. Mr DNF also decided that having successfully completed each round of qualifying that the main could be used for durability testing of his new body! Each impact nicely flexed the front bumper down and gave the whole car a nice rattle. He finished without broken parts, and a nice durability review for moneymatix.

The Beard was running mod for the second time, but judging from the grin on his face (or so I assume... It's hard to see into that beard) he will be back.

Fabio and Superstar had a back an forth battle. Superstar tried to lay a finishing inside pass on Fabio and was rejected by the pipes. Having bounce off the boards and then finishing nose into the boards, no amount of creatine was going to get him out of a dead stop. MARSALL

Speed was out running laps. Mega fast laps! Staring from mid field did not please Mr Speed, so he wanted some redemption. After closing quick on the positions immedationly in front of him, he soon had his eyes on The Drone. With a small error from The Done, Speed was soon on his bumper looking to claim first. The buzzer sounded and the crowd was denied the battle for first.

Finishing Order:

The Drone, Speed, Monster, Fabio, Superstar, Mr DnF, The Wall, The Beard.
