I'm sticking with the standup transmission for now (not much choice about that, until laydown kits become available again). I'm confident that it can be just as good on anything this side of very-high traction, which our track is definitely not.
My local hobby shop has a laydown conversion kit hanging on the wall. It might be worth giving them a call?
