That's such a tough call. If you want your spend to be $500 bucks or less, the Outcast is the clear winner. In terms of refinement and the joy of bashing, the MT410 has no equal in my book. That, however, comes with a steep price tag. I have close to $1000 in mine less the Lipo's.
I guess what I'm driving at is this major point:
They are both equally as tough. They are not equally refined. If there was an open MT class in organized RC racing, the box stock MT410 wouldn't have an equal against other box stock MT's. PERIOD.
Buy either of them based on what you can afford. (Buy both if you can afford both, haha!)
As far as putting the kit together...I'm a noob at putting together an RC Car kit. I do have experience putting RC aircraft kits together however. I found this kit to be very simple. One parts bag...one page in the manual and so on. That's easy stuff.
