Well it took a little digging,but I finally found this dead thread.I'm sure everyone has moved on to shaftys,but I run up on one of these trucks in my kHz on consignment.140.00 rtr.now she needed some love but I always wanted one,but 8th scale has always ruled my world.but 10th scale has picked up and out of 9 race cars of all kinds,no 4x4 sct.soooooo.I rebuilt the truck with some need parts,i came with a castle 3800kv sct system.I put it on the track for the first outdoor race around here and WON.ok ok only 4 were there,but hey a win is a win.with the castle system and slow servo in it,it was easy to drive consistently,well cause it was slow.I wanted a bit more power so I did the research and looked into rx8 and 550 motor setups.for to messing around in the shop and found a esc(x car beast series)120amp.I put this up a few months ago due to not having a programmer for in and in 2wd anything I like some boost.well I soldered the casle 1410 3800 up to the esc in blinky mode.to my surprise this setup is smoking fast.I can't believe how much of a difference that esc made to that motor.runs more like a e buggy than a 10th scale.I know no one races these anymore but I'm going to field it in our local s ct challenge series,I'll update as the season unfolds.
