nah, you don't need one of those for what you're looking for here. trial and error. check temps frequently.

when i ran 4wd SC, i ran a hobbywing 3656 4000kv and a hobbywing V3 speedo. most people were using the 4700kv version. i liked the 4000kv because i could tune it with boost/turbo to be as fast as the 4700kv but more driveable on the infield. when i'd run a track with a long straight, i'd run more turbo. big jumps with short run ups? more boost. for your application, i'd put that toro in there and experiment with boost/turbo, again, checking temps. once you get a feel for what each does, i think you'll like it.
