Yokomo ball cups are terrible, so that explains the AE parts swap. The TLR 22-4 2.0 hubs I'm not sure. It has to be some sort of geometry change. Either relating to drive shaft geometry or suspension geometry.
Would you be able to quantify why the Yokomo ball cups are terrible? The only issue I had with mine are that they can bend/disfigure. Using longer turnbuckles solves that problem. Other than that, they have never popped off and remain tight.
