New to 1/12th scale and read through the wiki but I'm more confused than ever now regarding tires. We're running on commercial gray carpet and SXT 3.0 is the only additive allowed. Traction is med - high. Are JFT the way to go? Where do you get them in the US and where should I start with tire selection? Seems the wiki tire suggestions are outdated in colors etc.
My local track has similar gray carpet with medium traction. We also can only use SXT 3.0. The combos I found to work well are CRC/Jaco Yellow rear Black front. CRC Pink rear Purple front. Contact 28 rear and 35 front. I think my favorite is the yellow and black combo but really they are all pretty close. Right now I've been using the Pink/Purple combo but I think I still have too much front even with no sauce on the front and full on the back. The Contact are surprisingly good for how cheap they are. I tried CRC Green and Blue rear with blue and double blue fronts and they did not have any rear traction for our carpet. The really fast guys use Pink rear and find a front that works for the day. I'm kind of new to 1/12 and this skittles rainbow of colors and options is frustrating for running 17.5 1/12 spec racing. I wish they would spec a tire or run the CRC Purple stripe spec tires and call it good. I'm tired of spending so much $$ just trying to find something that will work good and consistent on this carpet.
