I have a HobbyWing XR10 (JustStock) and it can brake multiple times during the coast without going into reverse just as long as I don't brake hard at the 2nd or 3rd jab. It is very cool.

With Tamiya's kit ESC, once you hit brake once regardless of how hard you apply, the next time you try to brake during the same coast will force it into reverse. Not very convenient.
