Works really well on the ETS carpet we have here.

It seems that the touring cars and f1 cars leave a lot of gunk on the track that our tires tend to pick up. When we ran the masters of foam race last month the tires came of the track relatively clean. Right now, the tires come off the track completely covered in a black paste.
Something else you might try is a cleaner called Goo Gone(like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Goo-Gone-...Spray/17300573 ), I've tried it as both cleaner & traction compound on natural rubber(both on & off-road) & foam tires, & it does an excellent job of removing gunk, as well as works for improving grip. I first tried it on off road tires that I had been using SXT 3.0 on, & it worked every bit as well, & actually worked faster(didn't need to soak the tires for very long), plus as you could see from the link, it's VERY affordable & one bottle can last for several months(I usually get about 6 months of use out of one bottle of that size). For cleaning the clag off your tires(that rubber buildup, I like the full scale F1 guys' terms for it), I think it works great, & the smell is like oranges(not real strong, I think it uses citrus based oils in it, among its ingredients) & it dries fast. Might be worth a try....
