I had the .12 WASP when I bought my R40 . It came with my half way built R40 kit I bought off some guy. It's easy to tune and start up. It doesn't give you any problems. But I don't really like it, not much power compared to my STS D3R or D5R. In my opinion, it doesn't really give you the most bang for the buck.
If you're looking for something affordable with some power, might I suggest the STS, or maybe the RD Logics Richey engine.
The wasp engine might not be recognized too much, yet it is well balanced and kicks butt. I would definately recommend it for racing because on my R-40 it kicks butt... I even race against serpents with OS .18tz engines and I hang in there with no problem at all... Try it it is worth it....
