You absolutely should also go with a sensored motor and esc: they are much smoother at low rpm and have a smoother braking feel. Get a Hobbywing, Tekin, whatever.

One additional word of advice...Since many drivers prefer the 3-gear conversion for the SC5M, if you do go sensored, make sure the ESC has the ability to reverse motor rotation so that your timing curves won't be reversed. The kit comes as a 4-gear, but plan ahead so you always have the option. I really like the Tekin Gen 2 ESCs, since they can be tuned with an android device.
