Not sure how the flex is supposed to work when your still running 4 screws across the layshaft. Taking the top ones out however i felt. Though i dont like flex. You may be right on there being limited adjustability when running the layshaft screws, but I personally never run them, as for me it makes the car far too locked in on the rear.
What's the rest of your setup? Might be able to suggest things to help
