What's wrong with IRS. It's alluminium and it's made in USA.
We use IRS spool up front and IRS alloy diff outdrives on the rear.
Never had any trouble with either.
I don't like IRS pin cushions, in fact I use Corally Assassin drive shafts with their own blades. They are a virtually straight fit.
