I've tried one of these $5 boosters and almost destroyed a brand new WGT as it made the car uncontrollable. I put in an RX pack and the problem went away. The least I would use is a Hopbbywing model at about $20. The one used at the Worlds is sold by Trinity for $50!

Personally, I think a change to 2S could be a boost for areas/countries where 1/12 is not really popular at the moment. But the change will be a big pain in the butt for places where 1S 1/12 is doing well. I'm reluctantly getting back into 1/12 because I love the cars and the way they drive. But I'd be diving in happily if it was 2S as I'd be able to share batteries with my F1 car and have a wider range of ESCs to choose from.
