I have no shims in the front.....I don't notice any problem.
oh, I also use "TB-Evo IV Ball-Head King Pin" part# 51101 so the wheel won't rub any ball cup.
Don't screw in the king pin too deep - it will bind the c-hub.

What about asphalt racing, which is the best for that?
