Depends on where you race. If there is a minimum weight, you might need the ballast to get there.
1350g is common for touring cars. This is now the IFMAR weight as of this year.
Weight is measured as complete and ready to go including transponder, battery, body, body clips etc. As you would place it on the track.
Thank you for your prompt and concise answer. If you didn't say it, I wouldn't know as the manual just state use the weights if necessary.
