I guess you mean the rear plate am40? If you raise am40 I'd recommend raising the front bulkhead am41/am43 and also the tower am49 the same amount to keep the rod parallel with the chassis.
Can you fit a smaller spur gear so you can use a smaller pinion? Looking at the manual a 50t spur and 37 pinion should fit and give you a fdr of 2.81
The Manual seemed to indicate 36/52 would work too but it doesn't the pinion is simply too tall so 37/50 would be the same.
