The newest carpet in the US is the CRC carpet, which is black and very high grip. Although I think it's grip is partly a lot higher due to US almost always using a subfloor made from wood to put the carpet on.
Ah that makes sense. I couldn't work out why everyone was switching to metal chassis in the US to cope with the grip when we appeared to have the same carpets.
