This is the 22 3.0 dilemma. Three months ago, a b5 was $250 (about) + $200 for a WWHD laydown, putting you at $450ish for a dirt chassis, with a laydown tranny.
The TLR laydown conversion was a fantastic deal in comparison. For $30 less than a WWHD laydown, you got a high quality laydown, a lawydown-spec chassis, alum hubs, arms, etc. What a deal! For just a little more total than the b5 setup you had a more purposebuilt laydown car. The base 22 3.0 was of course more than the b5.
Fast forward to now, and AE offers you a standup/lawydown combo for a bit more than $100 less than TLR's option ($460 vs $340).
That being said . . . I prefer the TLR car's driving on clay than any of the AE cars that I've borrowed.
The b6 is undoubtedly a good car, but I doubt it's going to feel that much better to me than the b5 or better than the TLR.
