You might try some 16ga wire. OD, JRRC, Crimson Eagle and I have all experimented with 16ga wire and we do not notice any drop in performance on the track. Especially on asphalt. The 16ga wire will remove weight and also, when carefully routed low, down the center of the car, will not impede the action of the motor pod which is extremely important.
OD: As soon as you get Ruben’s 12L4 completed with the wire shrink wrapped to the T bar brace, post a picture. I would post a picture of my Yokomo but my camera will not do close ups like your camera does.
