A good quality double sided tape will work & look fine provided you align everything correctly. But given time (years) the tape will break down & things will eventually move. Have just finished a new body shell myself - Mazda RX7 wide body with extra aerodynamic body kit. I used Uhu glue to piece them together but any similar adhesive is going to work.
