I set my as shown in stock. Well since it was kinda hard to tell if the collars had touched the shoe as listed in the manual, I had the screws flush with the opening, then cranked them in another turn. Now the 2speed doesn't engage too early. Becareful when tightening the two screws with spring and collar. You can have them bore right out of the 2speed shoe as I nearly did if you over tighten.
Other than that, you'll be ok.
