Stock ones run too long. Soldering nice means nothing if my sensor Cables just kill it.
(that's cheap and good although they don't usually fall together)

Tq wire products are good and don't break the bank. if its the shortest or not im not sure, but they are very soft and don't tweak the pod. and they also sell silicon insulated wire that is excellent for 12th scale

And where can I get the weights to balance the car out.

I like to use Tungsten Pinewood Derby plate type weights as they are very thin and heavy for their size.

Find yourself some 63/37 solder, much easier to work with. For best results, clean the old solder off with desoldering wick, and use a non acid flux.
