For those looking to save weight, I switched to a SC based 550 motor (LRP 10L) and am running a 3S LiPo with no issue. I have modified the chassis a bit to lower the weight further. Yet as Tom has already stated the car with a 550 1/8 motor and 4S far from needs tire additives / traction compound, if anything I feel the car when running my worn 1/8 tires from my 4wd IC chassis, does not let the chassis work as well. The chassis feels like it's in a bind and reacts similarly as a 4wd IC car when it's tweaked or you stripped a shock rod end out of its threads. Just my 10 cents.
