I've had the purple arrowmax sets, but found them to be soft. The newer honeycomb ones are supposed to be better.
I have a set of losi tools that are almost 20 years old, and they're still in very good condition for the amount of use they have had.
If you can find machined tool steel tips, it would be your best option.
Losi, MIP, etc are like these.
