I had no luck with the monster in torque heavy applications like 4wd. Not sure how much better it would be in 2wd truck but I can see it being a motor to look into for 2wd buggy on an open track.
I would say a good motor that offers a nice balance of torque and RPM is the P2k2. Look into getting some of these tuned from Team br00d. I would recommend team Paradigm as well but they are having contact issues right now.
