It will fit anything (Tamiya says M05/M06) but would probably be a little wonky on an M03 because of the high servo position.
The key to making the 04 work is a very loose diff and lots of droop. Sticky tires help, too. The stock gear diff has a tendency to seize after a time if using a brushless motor. They'll last forever with a silver can, though.
Yeah, I'd prefer mounting the Miata body on a RWD chassis, if not 4WD.
Tamiya's idea of mounting it on a FWD chassis is just wrong to me.
Thanks for the input on the M04 setup. I should maybe try the M-Rage dampers on it and see how it goes. I have a bunch of S-Grips left over from the Shimizu 55mm setup I recently did on most of my m-chassis, and yeah, will only run silver can on mine as I want the smoothness coming out of turns.

The real car is pretty nice. It's on my short list of cars to maybe buy next season actually.
