I saw it happen again at the local rug this weekend.
It appears to be a BEC issue in this one.
He was running:
Air 257 servo
LRP Q1
The light on his PT would go dim and the Spekrum Rx would go into failsafe.
It would shutdown for about a SEC or so, then come back on.
He replaced the system with old stardard Tx/Rx and no issues.
He was able to reproduce it on the bench also.
We did not try the CAP fix, but that is next as a test.
On a side note: he runs the exact system(Tx/Rx/servo) in his gas cars with no issues.
this problem as you mention above has hopefully been addressed with the latest sw upgrades. do you know if this is one of the original units? if so or you think it maybe go to the horizon or spektrum site and return it to them for upgrading. this has happened to several local users and after getting them back the problems appear to have been fixed...
the capacitor could be a temporary solution - which will stabilize the power the transever (sp?) uses and prevents it from dropping into failsafe mode.
