RC is just a "hobby" for me too, and I spend a couple thousand a year. I not sure you're going to get a lot of "upgrade" advice for a redcat. I would just run it as it is, considering you're just running around in a pasture. If the servo burns out, replace the servo. When the tires wear out, replace the tires.
