My concern with all the newest cars is they are bulit to be more rigid since most are run on carpet with high bite. Heard having a single shock for side dampening would help rear traction better then the 2 tubes. Was even considering to pick up a 12R5.1 with lipo conversrion to have the shock set instead of the tubes.
Any set up starting points? All of the set up sheets I have seen are for carpet or high bite.
Thanks
We run on med grip asphalt here, the fast guys are running (in no particular order), TOP, xray, serpent, AE, BMI. All of these cars are tube cars no single middle shock cars in the field, all are plenty fast. The key is to find the tire that gives you the right grip and a setup that will provide fast corner speed.
The only starting point I can give is that we are all mostly running blue or green rears and dbl blue or team purple fronts (BSR mostly). Most everyone is around a 5mm ride height and run the tires on the large side as the taller sidewall helps with side bite.
If racers are already out running where you are planning to run the best bet would be to go and watch, see who and what cars are fast and ask questions.
