There is your answer. ROAR has never been concerned with things like "will my equipment last", but if your track is non-ROAR, then talk to the Race director and have at it. If other racers worry about people over-powering their truck, maybe propose a rule like "Only 3s with motors 2500kv and lower in can size 3660 or smaller" or similar. What is the old line about "be the change you want to see"
Along a similar note, and for about the same reasons, several racers at my local track running 1:8 e-bug have started experimenting with 6s and 1500kv motors. Speed / power is very similar, batteries are smaller, and everything runs cool.
