Have you even calibrated your esc? Or haven't you touched the SET button all this time?

The MX-V comes binded from factory, so chances are very slim the transmitter and receiver are not binded.

First things first:

1)Did you buy the Flow new or used?
2)Did you (or previous owner) perform a firmware update?
3)If yes, RESET the Flow by unplugging battery, switch power switch to OFF, plug in battery, NOW PRESS SET BUTTON AND KEEP PRESSING, switch on esc while still pressing the SET button and release after 1 or 2 seconds. Not any longer, or it will go into calibration mode.

4)Now, check settings on your transmitter; is throttle direction set to NORmal and not REVerse? Throttle should be set NORmal.
5)Set EPA throttle and brake both to 100%
6)Set D/R Throttle also to 100%
7)Set throttle EXP on your transmitter to 0. Both throttle and brake to 0.

Ater this it is time to calibrate:

-Turn on transmitter.
-Power up esc by turning the switch.
-Press SET button for a few seconds till you see some lights jumping over on the ESC. Then release.
(The difference between this and the RESETTING procedure is that now you do NOT keep the SET button pressed down while switching power on. Now you just simply switch the esc on, wait a few seconds just to be sure, and then you press SET button and follow the procedure as I'm explaining down here).
-Now , as I said, release SET button (after some lights are blinking), and after releasing press SET button one short time. Now your neutral setting is stored.
-After this, hit full throttle on you transmitter and keep it full throttle.
-While still holding full throttle, press SET button again one more short time. This will store the throttle setting.
-Now, hit full brakes and keep it like that, press SET button while still holding full brakes and your brake setting is stored.

After this the throttle and brake should function properly.

If not, it might be you messed up the binding procedure (by accident) and binding should be done again.
