I'm not sure what you are asking, but if you are charging at 2A regardless of AC or DC, you will charge slower than 4A.

The only difference between AC and DC is that for AC you are using the charger's internal transformer to step down 120v to 12v. If you are using DC, then you are using 12V without step down. The charger circuit is the same.

BTW, for NiMH sport packs, I only charge at 1C, meaning 2A for 2000mAh battery packs, 4A if 4000mAh. I only use 2000mAh NiMH for shorter charge times since I only use them for bashing or testing initial setups.
