I think Tekin customer service is top notch and they do support their products. Randy Pike is a regular on this forum and always takes the time to answer questions. I would venture to guess that he has seen this post, but Tekin's policy may be to only recommend the stock cap to avoid people using incorrect caps and damaging the esc.
With that being said, I am under the impression that if I use the same 16v, I can use a capacitor that has higher uF. The stock rsx cap is 16v 330uF. For example if a cap was 16v and 6000uF, it would work fine. The higher uF would serve to further smooth out ripple voltage and have cooler esc temps. If I am understanding incorrectly, let me know please.
Hey Tekin, why not make a remotely wired capacitor as an option to purchase?
As I understand it the right type and quality of cap also matters, low ESR, not sure on other details. Probably why there is some hesitation, more to it than just voltage and capacitance ratings. I've read a bit in other fields about the reliability of various caps as an example.
