Ran my first race yesterday since about 2005 or so and had an absolute blast! Never ran a little car with brushless, and boy that thing is so smooth! Love it.
Either way will help protect the front of the main chassie, more of a personal taste thing, some use both. In some cases, like the Serpent cars, the front body posts have the plastic guards molded in.
