visiting back to my body post. i ran 17.5 1/12th against a bunch of 13.5 1/12th yesterday -- qualifying 3rd i might add in a 6-7 car field -- at rc car world. my package was-
roche rc rapide p12 w/ transverse battery.
lrp flow works + tq cells booster, ko propo rsx12, sanwa m12s and rx481.
motiv 1s battery & 17.5 motor (light rotor).
tires BSR team purple front, BSR blue rears (same set, 2nd weeked on them, hardly any wear). 0.9mm split. 39.6 front, 40.5 rear (they started about 0.3mm higher last week)
i ran three bodies - crc/blackart lola (q2), amr (q3) and strakka (main). the lola felt great up front but at the 2m left mark the car was super loose and all i could do was hang on. amr had a solid/stable feel with no loss of hot lap, and was constant the whole run. even more importantly, the amr allowed me to dice with the 13.5 cars and gave me the confidence to put the car wherever i wanted to. in the main, with the strakka, we were pretty strung out w/o a lot of mixing it up, but in the last 1.5m of the run the car got a bit free, not as much as the lola, but no where as stable as the amr.
i know what body i'll be running at the halloween classic now. final tests planned for this upcoming weekend in middle river with 17.5 and 13.5. if anything changes ill post back, but otherwise ill finally be able run some race painted bodies i had from my prior speedmerchant days...
btw- just saw the electronic results, and they confirm my feelings. top 15 times were much much better w/ the amr as compared to hot lap. hot laps improved as the track got better all day -- but they are all within 0.04s. now -- to start some tuning for the amr!
