Regarding the build quality, just wanted to say I felt the same when I first picked up my 4PX. It felt light and "cheap" at first compared to my old Magnum PCM, and I was a bit disappointed with my $550 (with tax) purchase. I think the light weight was simply deceiving though, because after using the 4PX for a few months now I can't imagine using anything else. Of course "feel in hand" is extremely subjective, but I've yet to feel any other radio that has this kind of perfect balance. I literally forget its in my hand during a race.
And I know this is completely off the subject, but every time I see the screen on another radio I want to go running and screaming back to my 4PX. Sure, its a superficial feature, but that screen sure is beautiful, and the menus are brilliantly simple IMO.
Anyway, same as eR1c, definitely not dismissing your opinion, I just hope the radio grows on you like it did for me, because I felt the same way at first.
