You plug the ESC lead that would go to the receiver into one end of the Quick Connect, the short lead from the Quick Connect into the receiver, and the extra lead from the quick connect is used when you want to program the ESC. You no longer need to use the programming port on the RX-8.
Even though this is a Castle product, it should work with any ESC that can be programmed through the receiver connector. I have personally used it with other Tekin ESCs, though not yet with the RX8 Gen-2. So long as the Gen2 can still be programmed through the RX connector, it should work.
On my 1/8th setups, I always put the Quick Connect unit in the receiver box (yes, I still use receiver boxes) and just have the long lead come out and be taped down until I need it.
I had to remove your URL at TH, as I am not allowed to post URLs yet, I though you would get rid of that as an Tech member? I don't see any reason for being that anymore then... Anyway:
Hey, that would work!
And it happens to be that I have that one from Castle for my external BEC's I use on older Tekin ESC's that don't support 7.4V.
I will check out your solution and see how it goes.
But I just think I can use a extra lead that goes to the fan port on the ESC and then just ordinary connectors on the Tekin fan, simply put just an extension that are more easy to disconnect to then connect the hotwire without fiddle with that small fan connector all the time..
Like this, cut of connector of Tekin fan, re-solder on a servo lead, put new servo lead back in to tekin fan/ hotwire port and the install a ordinary servo connector on the other end of the new lead. If that make any sense lol...
Thanks man!
