My car seems to have some excess play (clearance) between the G03 25T bevel gear and the ring gear on the diff. I have already moved the SH0.1 shim to the gear side of the shaft to move the gears slightly closer for better mesh, but they still seem rather loose. How much play should there be in the gear mesh? Is there some way to get more adjustment? Or should I not worry about it?
frankly i wouldn't worry about it. i run all of my cars w/o p10 -- indoors or out. depending upon the amount of time on the car -- swapping out the g03 might be the largest help.
any time i've tried to add shims to one side of the spool i've ended up putting excess stress and breaking spools (at03 style--- never saw issue w/ at03m-s)
