Did you try without your servo connected (the original one)? I had a similar problem where the servo fried and when it was connected to the receiver, it would cause the ESC not to arm. Unplug the servo and it was fine.

Were all the electronics working before you started started your upgrades? And they were not part of the upgrade process?
