No you are right, the new fan don't have to be a brushless one, but I found one I belive will fit nicely and it's both brushless and with just two wires for connection like the original which is also brushless with just two wires. It has close to the same specs as the original, but with higher airflow, so true it will also be louder. I guess I'm a bit of an oddball, since I hate noise that sounds like something is busted, but the sound from a fan going full power don't bother me the least.

As for the other charger, putting a heat sink on it could be one way to get the temp down. Only problem would be, I somehow doubt it would do much good. The laptop power brick that's inside is fully cased, so it's pretty much ready to take out and hook up to a laptop.
In order to really cool the unit and power brick, would then be to disassemble the power brick as well and see if any cooling device, either active or passive could be mounted somewhere.

Nah I have decided to trust that Hyperion have made their homework properly and made the right calculations on what the power brick is capable to deliver within a safe margin of heat building up while doing so.
