Hey guys thanks for replying.

I thought it was dirt or other nasty stuff at first too, so I took it apart and looked things over as well as possible. There's not much room for inspection, due to short wires. The fan was the first thing I gave a close look, since it's easy to get to. but nothing, there's hardly any dust on it either and it does run. But you guys are right after some test charges and discharges I can conclude it is indeed the fan that makes the noise. So I am on the hunt for a new one. Not having much luck though. The fan used in the charger is a 12V - 0.11A 40x40x20mm brushless 2pin (note it's 2 pin not 3 pin even though it's brushless) So if any of you guys can find anything similar with as high air flow as possible drop a link.

I have another Hyperion charger, which is dead silent, it's an 0606i AC/DC and it gets hot. Not so I can't touch it, but still too hot for my taste and it don't have any active cooling. There's no fan inside it that's for sure, I took it apart and inside there's a powerbrick from a small laptop, so there's not even room for a small fan if I wanted to put one in.
