I believe a wing could make a big difference as long as it's positioned in the air stream. The first time I took my D413 to the track I didn't have the wing cut out so I dropped it on the track and took off without it. It was nosing over very similar to what my SCT410 does if I try to drive it "normal". As soon as I put the wing on that went away.
I had never really thought much about the wings on my buggies before that. Pretty much just installed them when I built the kits and then forgot about them.
