SMC or protek will both work fine in my opinion. I have the SMC in my NT48 and protek in the NB48.
I use the protek electric switch which has visual queue of low voltage. Typically I can go an entire day (practice, 3 qual, 30 main) on one, but I don't push it and charge at least once for saftey.
