Some people build them dry and use a drill with a part of a dog bone and run them for a few minutes. Then take them apart, clean out the loose shavings, and rebuild.
I used to do that when breaking in a new engine in a new kit, installed dry, then after break in of engine take the diffs out....
But I don't know if any of this relates to what he said. Lol
