I just ordered the evo 4 gear yesterday to do that setup. I saw Marty H. at RSJ on Friday night and he told me that he was running the evo 4 aluminum gear up front and has had no problems. That night as he was getting used to the layout (very tight track) he was hitting some boards pretty hard at speed. no stripping. I am not sure why everyone says the EVO 4 aluminum one way gear won't work when every who has tried it says it does. can't wait to get it in the car.
