A 2.4 radio should take your buggy far enough out that you have a hard time seeing which way it is pointed (unless you are doing 1:5 scale or something just huge).
If you are using nimh in the radio it may be starved for voltage and that can impair your range.
If you are using a RTR radio you can certainly do better in quality, but the range I doubt will that drastic of an improvement.
Thank you so much, at this point I believe there's an issue with the buggy. I lost range at 40 feet and then down to 3 in 25 minutes today, with a full charge. I put in my second battery and nothing, the car actually moved forward a tiny bit on its own. All I could do is turn the wheels. I have no idea... I'm on hold with Duratrax.
