I would also try to run without the sensor cable, if the esc can run both sensored/unsensored.

If that works and you think that the esc/motor runs smoothly enough, you can run unsensored instead of buying a new esc/motor. Maybe not optimal, but definitely a cheaper solution than buying new.

I have had Hobbywing esc/motors (Xerun 150A) that actually ran quite smooth unsensored, so smooth in fact that I didn't replace a broken sensor cable. I just ran unsensored.

I've had another Xerun 150A esc/motor combo that didn't want to run sensored, so I quit the sensor cable and once again just ran unsensored.

Maybe the hall sensors and board in the back of the motor is not working correctly. Have you opened the motor to see that the sensor circuitry in the back of the motor looks OK?
