The problem is the weight of the truck. It's around twice the weight the Novak was intended to push around. It's going to be the same story for any motor originally meant for 2s. I don't have any experience gearing down to half the speed to know if that will make it survive. Also vehicles this size and weight are typically run on 4s, the extra voltage produces more power and moves the vehicle more efficiently generating less heat.
Typical for a Revo is a 40-42mm diameter 65-74mm long 4 pole (1/8 scale) 1800-2200kv motor on 4s. I let the kids play with my 6s powered LST, I just turn down the epa on the transmitter so it goes as slow as a radio shack toy. No changing motors or voltages needed. They do get annoyed when they hand back the Tx and I wheely after maxing out the epa's. They want to do that too! Not a chance! Lol
Since you have the Novak give it a shot. It's not worth buying a dedicated 2s motor that may or may not work. Running a larger 1/8 motor that your normally find in a Revo on 2s might work. But if you have a 1/10 2s-3s esc that might be too small for the bigger motor.
